Burnt Sugar Fudge
Burnt Sugar Fudge is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 3 1/2 c. sugar, 1/2 c. hot water, 2 c. light cream, 2 tbsp. corn syrup (light or dark) and 1/4 tsp. salt, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Packed with nutrients and delicious flavors.

In heavy saucepan, melt and brown 1/2 cup sugar until it forms a dark golden syrup.
Remove from heat.
Let cool a few minutes. Add hot water.
Very slowly stir in rest of sugar, cream, corn syrup and salt.
Cook without stirring to soft ball stage (238Β° on candy thermometer).
Remove from heat.
Add butter, vanilla and nuts; cool slightly, then beat until mixture thickens and begins to lose its gloss.
Put in an 8 x 8-inch buttered pan.
Let stand until firm; cut into squares.
