Annie's German Plum Cake
Annie'S German Plum Cake is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 c. flour, 3/4 c. sugar, 1/4 lb. butter or margarine, 3 lb. (approximately) prune plums and 1 tsp. vanilla, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Packed with nutrients and delicious flavors.

Cream the butter and sugar together, then add eggs until smooth.
Stir in sifted flour and baking powder and add vanilla. The batter will be thick.
Spread into a baking pan (9 x 13-inch), ungreased.
Cut plums in half, removing pits and rinse.
When dry, place plums, skin side down, on top of batter until it is covered. (I find it usually takes about 21 plums to cover the whole pan, 42 halves, 6 across and seven down).
Sprinkle with 1/4 cup sugar and bake in 350Β° oven for 1/2 to 3/4 hour until batter is browning on the edges.
If the plums are properly ripened, they will create a syrupy glaze over the cake.
This cake is like nothing else I've ever tasted.
