Put sugar, water and corn syrup in saucepan; stir over low heat until sugar is dissolved.
Boil, covered, about 3 minutes, then boil, uncovered and without stirring, until soft ball forms when dropped in cold water.
Remove syrup from heat, quickly. Beat whites with cream of tartar until stiff, but not dry, then pour syrup over egg whites, beating.
Add salt and flavoring; beat until frosting is cool.
