Stuffed Cabbage Rolls
Stuffed Cabbage Rolls is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 head cabbage (about 4 lb.), boiling salted water, 1 onion, chopped, 1 1/2 lb. ground beef and 1/2 lb. sausage or if desired, 2 lb. beef, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Great for entertaining guests or a cozy night in.

Remove core of cabbage.
Place it in a large kettle of boiling water. Cover and cook 3 minutes or until softened enough to pull off individual leaves. Cut thick center stem from each leaf. Place meat, rice, salt, onion and pepper in a bowl and mix thoroughly.
Place a heaping tablespoonful on each leaf.
Tuck sides over filling while rolling leaf around filling. Place a trivet in large Dutch oven.
Put in cabbage rolls.
Pour tomato sauce and 1 can of water over and simmer 1 1/2 hours.
