Sprouts with Sour Cream
Sprouts With Sour Cream is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 lb. fresh brussels sprouts, 1/2 c. chopped onion, 2 tbsp. butter or margarine, 1 tbsp. all-purpose flour and 1 tbsp. brown sugar, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. An easy weeknight meal that comes together quickly.
Cut sprouts in one-inch pieces; rinse well and place in pan with 1-inch of water.
Bring to a boil; reduce heat.
Cover and simmer for 8 to 10 minutes or until tender.
Meanwhile, in another saucepan, saute onion in butter until tender.
Stir in flour, brown sugar, salt and mustard until blended.
Gradually stir in milk; bring to a boil.
Boil for 1 minute.
Reduce heat; stir in sour cream.
Heat through.
Drain the sprouts; place in a serving bowl.
Top with sauce and sprinkle with parsley.
