A buttery Scandinavian press cookie with almond or vanilla flavoring, piped into delicate shapes that crisp at the edges and melt on the tongue. Christmas-tin classic.

Heat oven to 350Β°. Mix butter, sugar, egg, salt and flavoring thoroughly. Measure flour and work into mixture. Using 1/4 dough at a time, force through cookie press on ungreased
Baking sheet in desired shapes. Bake 6 to 9 minutes or until set but not brown. Makes about 5 dozen cookies.
