Spaetzle(A Perfect Accompaniment To Bavarian Casserole Recipe) is an easy dinner. Made with 2 eggs, beaten, 1 1/2 c all purpose flour, 1/2 tsp. salt, 1/4 tsp baking powder and 1/2 c water, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.
Beat eggs and add to mixed dry ingredients.
Add water.
Drop mixture into boiling water to cook.
To make spaetzle, I use an old metal pie pan that has 3/8 inch holes drilled into the bottom.
I spray it with Pam and place it over the saucepan of boiling water and use a flat spatula to force the dough through the holes.
This makes nice round little spaetzle.
Remove to cold water to stop the cooking process until you are ready to serve.
