Sour Cream Pound Cake
Sour Cream Pound Cake is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 3 c. sugar, 1 c. margarine or butter, softened, 6 eggs, separated, 1 tbsp. vanilla or lemon flavor and 3 c. plain flour or swans down cake flour, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Heat oven to 325Β°.
Grease and flour tube pan 10 x 4-inches. Beat sugar, margarine, egg yolks and vanilla in a large bowl on low speed, scraping bowl constantly every 30 seconds.
Beat on high speed, scraping bowl occasionally for 2 minutes.
Beat in flour, salt and baking soda alternately with sour cream on low speed.
Beat egg whites in a large bowl until stiff.
Fold into batter.
Pour into pan.
Bake until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean; 80 to 90 minutes.
Cool 10 minutes and remove from pan.
