Smothered Okra
Smothered Okra is an easy dinner. Made with 1 large chopped onion, 1 tomato, peeled and chopped, 1/2 c. oil, 2 lb. fresh, sliced okra and salt and pepper to taste, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Simple to make and full of bold, satisfying flavors.

Saute onions and tomatoes together in oil, about 2 or 3 minutes.
Add okra, stir well and cook on medium heat in a partially covered pot, about 45 minutes or until okra is no longer slimy.
Season with salt and pepper.
Makes 6 to 8 servings.
