Shortbread
Shortbread is an easy dinner. Made with 1 c. butter, softened (no substitutes), 1/2 c. sifted powdered sugar and 2 c. all-purpose flour, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Simple to make and full of bold, satisfying flavors.
Cream butter.
Gradually add powdered sugar.
Beat until light and fluffy.
Stir in flour; press into jelly roll pan.
Prick all over with fork.
Chill 30 minutes.
Bake at 375° for 5 minutes. Reduce heat to 300° and bake 25 additional minutes.
Cut into squares while warm.
Sprinkle with sugar.
Yield
72 cookies. These are better if stored in a tin box for several days. Cookies get sweeter with age.
