Sauerbraten
Sauerbraten is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 4 lb. boneless chuck, 2 tsp. salt, 1 1/2 c. cider vinegar, 1 1/2 c. water and 3 tbsp. pickling spices, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A crowd-pleaser that never disappoints.

Sprinkle chuck with salt.
Place in deep bowl. Combine other ingredients in saucepan, boil; pour over meat.
Place in refrigerator to marinate for 3 or turning meat over every day. When ready to cook, remove dry with paper towel, strain and reserve marinade.
Dredge flour and brown in hot fat in heavy pan.
Add 1 cup marinade to meat and cover.
Cook about 3 hours, slowly in 350Β° oven.
Add more liquid if needed.
