Ruth's Chicken
Ruth'S Chicken is an impressive dinner. Made with 6 to 8 pieces chicken parts, 1 large green pepper, 1 large red pepper, 2 garlic cloves (fresh) and 3 bay leaves, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Simple to make and full of bold, satisfying flavors.

Clean chicken parts.
Remove all fat and skin.
Add lemon juice to water.
Pat chicken parts dry (paper towel).
Season chicken with salt, black pepper, onion powder and garlic powder. On top of stove, saute garlic, onions, green and red peppers and vegetable flakes in 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil (do not brown). Remove from skillet.
Add 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil.
Add chicken parts until brown.
Spoon sauteed seasonings over chicken parts; add tomato sauce, sugar and cayenne red pepper.
Add water and cook for 15 minutes.
Turn chicken.
Add mushrooms and continue to cook until chicken is done.
Remove bay leaves. Serve over rice or noodles.
Serves 6.
