πŸ‘¨β€πŸ³ Instructions

Soak cucumbers 24 hours in lime and 8 1/2 quarts water.

Drain and wash the cucumbers well (be careful of cucumber rings.)

Make a solution with the alum, 1 cup vinegar and red food coloring; add with enough water to cover.

Simmer 2 hours or until tender; drain. Make syrup of red hot cinnamon candy dissolved in 2 cups hot water, 3 cups white vinegar, 15 cups sugar and 8 broken cinnamon sticks (I add 1 pint more sweetened vinegar.)

Bring to a boil and pour over cukes.

Let set overnight.

Next day drain, bring syrup to boil and pour over cucumbers.

Do this 3 nights.

Next day put cukes into jars and pour boiling syrup over the cukes and seal.
