Raisin-Spice Bars
Raisin-Spice Bars is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 c. raisins, 2 c. water, 1/2 c. butter, 1 c. sugar and 1 egg, slightly beaten, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A crowd-pleaser that never disappoints.
Boil raisins in water, uncovered, for 10 minutes.
Add butter to hot raisins and water and allow to melt.
Add sugar and beaten egg; stir well to dissolve sugar.
Combine remaining dry ingredients and add to raisin mixture.
Stir until well mixed, but do not beat.
Pour batter into greased jelly roll pan (15 1/2 x 10 1/2 x 1-inch).
Bake at 350Β° for 25 to 30 minutes. If desired, frost with orange or lemon icing while still hot, then let cool and cut into squares.
