Cut quince in quarters, core and peel.

Cover with water and boil in covered pan until tender.

Place fruit juice in covered jar and refrigerate until needed.

Pinch 3/4 of one slice of bread into 1-inch pieces to cover bottom of small baking dish.

Pour quince pieces and some juice on top of bread.

Sprinkle raisins over quince and bread.

Make another layer of bread.

Place small pieces of margarine over top and sprinkle brown sugar on top.

Add juice to within 1-inch of top of mixture.

Bake in preheated oven at 375Β° for about 20 to 30 minutes or until top is brown and juice is thickened.
