Povatica Bread
Povatica Bread is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 4 c. flour, 2 pkg. dry yeast, 1/2 c. warm water, 3/4 c. milk and 1/2 c. sugar, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.
Mix yeast in the warm water, set aside.
Mix melted butter with milk, sugar, eggs and salt.
Then mix yeast mixture, flour and the melted butter/egg/sugar/milk/salt mixture.
Knead dough gently and rise for 2 1/2 to 3 hours in a greased bowl in a warm place.
Do not punch down, divide it into 4 parts.
Roll each part out as you would for cinnamon rolls.
Spread filling, about 6 tablespoons per loaf.
Then roll up into a loaf, place in a pan sprayed with non-stick vegetable spray.
Raise in a warm place about 30 minutes.
Bake for 1 hour at 300Β°.
