Polish Poczki
Polish Poczki is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 pkg. dry yeast, 1 pt. milk scalded and cooled to luke warm, 1 tsp. salt, 7 c. flour and 4 egg yolks and 1 whole egg, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. An easy weeknight meal that comes together quickly.

Dissolve yeast in luke warm milk.
Add 2 cups flour; let stand in a warm place about 1/2 hour.
Then beat eggs, sugar, butter, vanilla and salt till light.
Add mixture to yeast mixture; add 5 cups flour cover and allow to rise for 1 hour or till double.
Turn on floured dough and pat to 1/2-inch thickness.
Cut with round doughnut cutter.
Cover and let rise again till double and light. Fry in deep fat at 375Β° till done on both sides.
Drain on paper towels.
When cool cut 1/2 way through and fill with jelly and sprinkle with powder sugar.
