Old-Fashioned Strawberry Pie
Old-Fashioned Strawberry Pie is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 1/2 qt. fresh strawberries, 1 c. sugar, 1 c. cold water, 3 tbsp. cornstarch and 1/3 c. water, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Great for entertaining guests or a cozy night in.

Dissolve cornstarch in 1/3 cup of water.
Wash and hull berries.
Select 1 cup of poorest berries.
Add these to sugar and 1 cup of water; bring to a slow boil and boil 15 to 20 minutes. Strain boiled mix through wire sieve, crushing berries with spoon. After juice is squeezed from berries, return juice to pan. Discard berry pulp.
Place juice over medium heat.
Stirring constantly, add cornstarch.
Simmer slowly until thick.
Remove from heat and cool.
Add remaining berries to baked pie shell. Cover with sauce.
Refrigerate.
Serve with whipped cream.
