No-Knead Rolls
No-Knead Rolls is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1/2 c. scalded milk, 1/2 c. water, 2 tsp. salt, 1 cake yeast or 1 pkg. active dry yeast and 3 c. all-purpose flour, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Great for entertaining guests or a cozy night in.
Blend together milk, 3 tablespoons shortening, sugar and salt. Cool to lukewarm by adding water.
Add yeast and mix well.
Add egg.
Add flour gradually, mixing until dough is well blended. Place in greased bowl.
Brush top with melted shortening and allow to rise until light.
Knead dough a few times to make smooth ball. Form into desired shapes and bake in 400Β° oven for 15 to 25 minutes or until golden brown.
Makes 2 dozen.
