New England Gingersnaps
New England Gingersnaps is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 3/4 c. butter, 1 c. sugar, 1 egg, 1/4 c. molasses and 2 c. sifted all-purpose flour, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Bursting with flavor in every bite.

Beat butter in a large mixing bowl.
Gradually add 1 cup sugar, beating until light and fluffy. Add egg and molasses.
Beat well. Sift together the flour, soda and spices.
Add to butter mixture, beating until smooth. Chill dough 2 hours.
Shape dough into 3/4-inch balls and roll in additional sugar to coat well. Place 2-inches apart on greased baking sheet.
Bake at 350Β° for 11 to 12 minutes.
(Cookies will puff up, then flatten.)
Cool slightly on cookie sheets. Remove to wire racks to cool completely.
Yields about 6 dozen.
