Meringue Frosting is an easy dinner. Made with 2 c. sugar, 2/3 c. water, 1/2 tsp. cream of tartar, 4 egg whites and 1 tsp. vanilla, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A crowd-pleaser that never disappoints.

In a saucepan combine sugar, water and cream of tartar.
Bring slowly to a boil, then boil rapidly to 236Β°, the soft ball stage. Beat egg whites until stiff.
Pour syrup very slowly over egg whites, beating constantly.
Add vanilla and continue beating until frosting holds its shape.
