Peel tomatoes by scalding them briefly in boiling water so skin comes off easily.

Garlic and put into blender with a small peeled tomato.

Blend for 2 seconds. Add rest of tomatoes garlic mixture and blend for 2 to 3 seconds. Remove and place in pot. Bring to a simmer uncovered.

Add bay leaves basil to the sauce. Simmer for about 5 minutes. Remove discard bay leaves.

Add olive oil just before serving.
