Maple Biscuits
Maple Biscuits is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 3/4 c. packed dark brown sugar, 1/2 c. dairy sour cream, 1 egg, 1 tsp. maple flavor and 2 1/2 c. all-purpose flour, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Simple to make and full of bold, satisfying flavors.
Preheat oven to 375Β°.
Combine brown sugar, sour cream, egg, and maple flavor in a medium bowl; set aside.
In a large bowl stir together flour, baking powder, baking soda, allspice, and salt.
Using a pastry blender or two knives, cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
Make a well in the center of the flour mixture; stir in sour cream mixture until moistened.
Turn dough out onto a floured surface.
Quickly knead dough by gently folding and pressing dough for 10 to 12 strokes or until nearly smooth.
Pat dough to 1-inch thickness.
Using a floured 2-inch biscuit cutter, cut out the dough.
Place 1 inch apart on an ungreased baking sheet.
Bake 13 to 15 minutes or until bottoms are brown and sides are firm.
Remove from baking sheet.
