Holupki - Stuffed Cabbage
Holupki - Stuffed Cabbage is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 small onion, 1 tsp. oil, 1 lb. ground beef, 1 lb. ground pork and 1/2 c. rice, cooked, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Simple to make and full of bold, satisfying flavors.
Brown onion in hot fat.
Add beef, pork, rice and seasonings. Mix well.
Cook separated cabbage leaves in boiling water for several minutes until soft enough to roll.
When cool, place 1 heaping tablespoon of meat mixture on each leaf and roll up and tuck in sides.
Take 1/2 of the sauerkraut and place in bottom of saucepan, then cabbage rolls in layers, then the other half of the sauerkraut.
Pour 1 can of tomato soup and enough water to cover. Cook slowly in covered saucepan about 1 hour.
