Green Tomato Pickles
Green Tomato Pickles is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 7 lb. green tomatoes, 1 gal. water, 4 pickling lime, 4 lb. sugar and 1 gal. vinegar, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Bursting with flavor in every bite.
Mix pickling lime and water well, letting any lime that does not dissolve settle bottom.
Select, dry and slice tomatoes.
Pour off water and add sliced tomatoes to it. Do aluminumware.
24 hours, then wash each piece well running water and dry.
Mix sugar and vinegar and pour tomatoes.
Soak 12 hours.
Add spices and bring to boil.
Cook at that point for 30 minutes.
Place in churn or glass
Yields approximately 8 pints.
