Goulash(Steelworkers Hungarian Beef) is an impressive dinner. Made with 2 tbsp. cooking oil, 1 c. sliced onion, 2 lb. stewing beef, cut up, 1 (6 oz.) can tomato paste and 3/4 c. green pepper, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Perfect for family dinners and special occasions.
Heat oil in Dutch oven.
Saute onions until golden.
Add meat; brown lightly.
Add remaining ingredients except for the cornstarch and water.
Cover; simmer slowly for 1 1/2 to 3 hours until meat is tender.
Skim off fat.
Mix cornstarch and water; stir into meat gravy mixture.
Bring to a boil, still stirring. Stir while it boils, 2 minutes.
Serve with buttered noodles. Makes 6 servings.
