Funnel Cakes
Funnel Cakes is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 3 eggs, 2 c. milk, 4 c. flour, 1/3 c. sugar and 1/2 tsp. salt, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A comforting dish that warms the soul.
Beat eggs and milk.
Sift dry ingredients together; add egg-milk mixture, beating as you pour.
Continue beating until smooth.
Let batter stand a few minutes while you heat 3 to 4 inches of fat to 375Β°.
Pour batter into small pitcher for easier handling.
Take an ordinary household funnel and put your finger over the end of it.
Pour some batter into mouth of funnel; take off your finger and let batter drop into hot fat, swirling it around and around until it is 3 inches in diameter.
Fry until light golden brown.
Drain on paper towels.
Sprinkle with powdered sugar.
Serve hot. Makes about 12 cakes.
