Florentiner
Florentiner is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 c. sliced or chopped apples, 3/4 c. mixed, candied fruit peel, 1/3 c. flour, 1/3 c. butter or margarine and 1/3 c. sugar, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.

Combine nuts and fruit peel and flour; set aside.
In a 1-quart pan combine butter, milk and honey.
Bring to a boil, stirring occasionally.
Boil until mixture reaches 240° on a candy thermometer, stirring constantly.
Remove; stir in nut mixture. Drop 1 tablespoon at least 3 inches apart onto a greased baking sheet.
Spread into 2-inch circles.
Do no more than 8 or 9 at a time.
Bake at 350°.
Remove from oven and shape immediately into 3-inch rounds, by dipping a 3-inch cookie cutter into water and place around a hot cookie.
Let stand 1 minute; remove carefully with spatula to waxed paper.
Cool completely.
