Drunken Turkey
Drunken Turkey is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 turkey or turkey breast, 1/2 tsp. seasoned salt, 2 onions, cut, 4 stalks celery and 1 orange, sliced or sectioned, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A comforting dish that warms the soul.
Coat turkey skin and cavity with butter.
Sprinkle generously with salt, pepper and garlic powder inside and outside.
Place turkey in a large roasting pan.
Cut onions and celery into 4-inch pieces.
Grate orange rind and set aside.
Peel orange and cut into sections.
Mix celery, onion and orange and stuff into cavity (or under breast).
Mix brandy, Triple Sec and wine together and pour over turkey.
Sprinkle rind over top and bake at 325Β° until done. The drippings can be used in cornbread dressing.
