Danish Puff Pork Chops

Brown chops on both sides in oil.
Place in a shallow 2-quart baking dish.
Sprinkle with salt and pepper.
Keep them warm. Meanwhile, in small saucepan over medium heat, melt butter or margarine; add flour.
Cook and stir for 1 minute; add milk. Stirring, bring to a boil and boil until thickened.
Remove from heat.
Beat in egg until smooth.
Stir in onion and cheese.
Over low heat, cook and stir just until cheese melts.
Spoon 1/4 of sauce over each pork chop, spreading to edges.
Bake at 350Β°, uncovered, for 35 to 45 minutes or just until chops are done and cheese is puffed and golden.
Makes 4 chops.
