Chicken Pie
Chicken Pie is an impressive dessert you can prepare in about 2 hours 22 minutes. Combine first 7 ingredients in a Dutch oven.
Cover with water; simmer one hour.
Remove chicken from broth.
Reserve 1 1/2 cups broth.
Remove chicken from bone.
Chop.
Saute celery, onions, carrots and potatoes in butter until crisp-tender.
Add flour, stirring until smooth.
Cook 1 minute.
Gradually add reserved broth and half and half.
Cook over medium heat until thick and bubbly.
Stir in salt, pepper and chicken.
Pour this mixture into pastry lined casserole.
