Chicken and Rice Casserole

Bring chicken and first 5 ingredients to a boil.
Cover and simmer 1 hour.
Cut chicken into bite size pieces.
Strain liquid and I use this instead of water to cook rice.
Saute mushrooms in butter and mix with soup and sour cream.
Add rice and chicken. Put in a 3-quart casserole or 2 (1 1/2-quart) casserole dishes. Sprinkle with slivered almonds and bake at 350Β° for 1 hour.
Serves 8 to 10.
