Cheese Straws
Cheese Straws is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 c. sifted flour, 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder, 1/2 tsp. salt, 2 tbsp. butter, softened and 1/2 c. shredded sharp cheddar cheese, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.

Preheat oven to 425Β°.
Sift flour, baking powder and salt into medium size bowl.
Cut in butter with pastry cutter until mixture is crumbly.
Add cheese; toss until well blended.
Sprinkle water over mixture; mix lightly with a fork just until pastry holds together and leaves sides of bowl clean.
Roll out on a floured surface to a 12 x 10-inch rectangle.
Cut in half lengthwise, then cut each half crosswise into 1/2-inch strips.
Lift strips one at a time; twist and place 1 inch apart on an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake in preheated oven for 10 minutes or until lightly golden brown.
Cool on wire rack.
