Caramel Corn
Caramel Corn is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 c. brown sugar, 1/2 c. light corn syrup, 1/2 lb. butter or margarine (half of each is good), 1/2 tsp. baking soda and 1/8 tsp. cream of tartar, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.
Mix sugar, syrup and butter/margarine in a saucepan.
Bring to boil, reduce heat and cook 5 minutes, stirring constantly.
Remove from heat; add baking soda, cream of tartar and salt.
Pour over popped corn and mix thoroughly.
Place in large uncovered pan (about 18 x 12 x 2 1/2-inch).
Bake in low oven (200Β°) for 1 hour.
Remove and spread on waxed paper or foil and separate into bite sized pieces.
Store in covered container.
