Heat and stir sugar, syrup and water in pan.
When sugar dissolves and comes to a boil, add butter.
Stir often after syrup reaches 230°, add nuts at 280°, stir to hard crack at 305°.
Remove from heat and add soda; mix well.
Pour out on two cookie sheets. Stretch ends with fork.
Pour into pieces as soon as possible. Makes 2 1/2 pounds.
