Beef Stroganoff
Beef Stroganoff is an impressive dinner. Made with 1 lb. sirloin or round steak, 1/4 to 1/2 inch, 1 tsp. garlic salt or 1 clove garlic, 3 to 4 tbsp. flour, 1/4 tsp. pepper and 4 to 6 tbsp. shortening, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A crowd-pleaser that never disappoints.
Rub both sides of meat with garlic and cut into 1 1/2 x 1-inch strips.
Coat meat with flour and seasonings and brown in shortening.
Add onion, soup and water and simmer covered for 1 to 1 1/2 hours, until meat is tender.
Remove cover and add mushrooms and continue to cook until thickened.
Add sour cream and chives and blend.
Serve over noodles.
