Beef Stew with Wine
Beef Stew With Wine is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 large clove garlic, about 12 onions, 1 1/2 bunches carrots, 3/4 lb. beef stew meat and about 1 1/2 cans undiluted consomme, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.

Brown garlic in margarine; take out and discard.
Brown onions, remove and put in casserole.
Brown carrots; put in casserole. Dust meat in flour, pepper and salt.
Brown meat.
Put everything back in skillet and add wine, consomme and bay leaf.
Mix ingredients and return to casserole.
Cover and simmer in a 350Β° oven about 4 hours.
Stir occasionally to keep from getting too brown on top.
Juice should be thickening perfectly but cautiously add more liquid if it appears to be drying out.
