Bear Stew
Bear Stew is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 3 lb. bear meat, cubed, 5 medium size potatoes, cubed, 3 tomatoes or 1/2 c. ketchup, 3/4 tsp. black pepper and 2 tbsp. bacon grease, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.

Brown meat well in hot fat.
Season with salt and pepper. Cover with hot water and simmer 1 to 1 1/2 hours.
Add cubed vegetables and bay leaves, and cook slowly 25 minutes.
When meat and vegetables are tender, thicken slightly with flour mixed with cold water.
