Asparagus Au Gratin

Preheat oven 400 degrees.
Drain asparagus, reserve liquid. Saute green pepper in butter in skillet until tender.
Stir in flour and seasonings.
Add cream and 1/2 cup asparagus liquid. Cook, stirring constantly, until sauce thickens.
Add pimento. Arrange asparagus in shallow baking dish.
Pour sauce over asparagus; sprinkle with cheese.
Bake at 400 degrees for 20 minutes, until asparagus is heated and cheese is lightly browned. Makes 6 to 8 servings.
