Made with . ground beef, c. onion, chopped, garlic clove, minced, (8 oz.) can tomato sauce and c. uncooked lentils, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. An easy weeknight meal that comes together quickly.
In a large skillet over medium-high heat, brown beef with onion and garlic; drain well.
Stir in remaining ingredients (including chili powder, hot sauce, etc., if desired) except sandwich buns. Bring to boil.
Reduce heat; cover and simmer 40 to 45 minutes or until lentils are tender, stirring occasionally and adding water if mixture becomes too dry.
Spoon 1/2 cup mixture onto each bun, toasted, if desired.
