Welsh Raisin Bread
Welsh Raisin Bread is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 c. raisins, 1/4 c. shortening, 3 eggs, 3 1/2 c. flour and 1 c. sugar, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Great for entertaining guests or a cozy night in.

Cover raisins with water and boil for 10 minutes.
Drain, reserving 1 cup of liquid and return to boiled raisins.
Add the shortening and set aside to cool.
When cool, add eggs.
Sift dry ingredients and add to raisin mixture.
Pour into 2 greased loaf pans and bake for 1 hour.
Turn out on rack to cool.
Can cut 20 to 22 slices.
Serve buttered.
