Welsh Cookies
Welsh Cookies is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 7 c. flour, 2 tbsp. baking powder, 2 tsp. salt, 1/2 lb. lard and 1/4 lb. oleo, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.
Blend flour, baking powder and salt together.
Cut in lard and oleo until grainy.
Stir in sugar, nutmeg and currants.
Beat eggs and mix with milk.
With a fork, mix all ingredients to form a soft dough.
Roll dough about 1/2-inch thick.
Cut into rounds of desired size.
Bake on an ungreased griddle, 325° to 350° if electric.
Bake on one side until golden brown.
Turn; cook on other side.
