Sweet Uncooked Cucumber Pickles
Sweet Uncooked Cucumber Pickles is an easy dinner. Made with 16 lb. whole cucumbers, 1 gal. apple cider vinegar, salt to float eggs, 1 (10 oz.) box pickling spice and 1 lb. alum (10 oz.), this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. An easy weeknight meal that comes together quickly.
Soak for 14 days in brine water the whole cucumbers, then slice.
Soak for 6 hours in vinegar; drain.
Pour the spice and sugar in over cucumbers and let stand.
The sugar will make plenty of syrup to cover pickles.
This pickle may be stored in stone jar until used.
Sealing is not necessary.
This is all cold.
The pickles are never to be heated.
