Sweet-Sour Spareribs
Sweet-Sour Spareribs is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 lb. spareribs, cut in 2-inch pieces, 1 1/2 tsp. salt, 2 1/2 tbsp. shoyu, 2 1/2 tbsp. cornstarch and 8 tbsp. brown sugar, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Perfect for family dinners and special occasions.
Marinate spareribs hour in mixture of salt, shoyu and cornstarch.
Brown ribs in oil; drain oil.
Simmer ribs until tender, to 2 hours, in a mixture of the brown sugar, vinegar, ginger and/or garlic and pineapple juice-water mixture. Add pineapple chunks just before serving.
Remove oil from spareribs.
