Sweet-Sour Red Cabbage
Sweet-Sour Red Cabbage is an easy dinner. Made with 1 (2 lb.) head red cabbage, 1/2 c. firmly packed brown sugar, 1 tbsp. caraway seed, 1/2 c. vinegar and 1/4 c. butter, softened, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Perfect for family dinners and special occasions.
Remove and discard wilted outer leaves from red cabbage. Rinse, cut into quarters (discard core) and coarsely shred.
Put cabbage into saucepan and add boiling salted water and add brown sugar and caraway seed.
Cook 8 to 12 minutes or until cabbage is tender.
Remove from heat and drain.
Add to cabbage vinegar and cup butter.
Toss together lightly to mix.
Serve immediately. Serves 6.
