Sweet Potato Cobbler
Sweet Potato Cobbler is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 lb. sweet potatoes, 1/2 c. shortening, 1 1/2 c. flour, 1/2 tsp. salt and 2 c. sugar, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Packed with nutrients and delicious flavors.

Peel potatoes; slice 1/4-inch thick.
Put into large kettle; cover with water and cook until tender.
Cut shortening into flour and salt, adding enough water to make dough stiff.
Roll out; cut into pieces the size of a cup.
Remove one half potatoes (keep remainder cooking over heat); add 1 cup sugar, one-half butter and part of spices.
Place part of dough over potatoes; top with remaining potatoes.
Add 3/4 cup sugar, remaining dough on top; sprinkle with 1/4 cup sugar.
Bake at 450Β° until crust is brown. Remove from oven; place over heat.
Add milk; bring to a boil. Remove from heat; cool slightly.
Yields 16 servings.
