Swedish Meat Balls
Swedish Meat Balls is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 1/2 c. soft bread crumbs, 3/4 c. milk, 3 tbsp. onion, finely chopped, 4 tbsp. butter and 1 lb. ground beef, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Simple to make and full of bold, satisfying flavors.
Soak bread crumbs in milk.
Saute onions in 2 tablespoons butter until soft.
Add to bread crumbs.
Add beef, seasonings and egg.
Form into balls 1-inch in diameter.
Roll in flour.
Saute in remaining 2 tablespoons of butter about 10 minutes or until lightly browned.
Add stock or cream.
Cover and simmer for 5 minutes. Remove meat balls to dish.
Thicken gravy with 1 1/2 tablespoons flour blended with equal amount of water.
Pour over meat balls.
