Sugar Cookies - Cut Out
Sugar Cookies - Cut Out is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1/2 c. butter, 1/3 c. shortening, 2 c. all-purpose flour, 3/4 c. sugar and 1 egg, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.
Beat butter and shortening.
Mix with electric mixer on medium to high speed about 30 seconds or until softened.
Add half of flour, all of sugar, egg, milk, baking powder, vanilla and salt. Beat until mixed.
Beat or stir in remaining flour.
Divide dough in half.
Cover.
Chill about 3 hours or until easy to handle. Roll each half of dough on lightly floured surface to 1/8-inch thickness.
Using a 2 1/2-inch cookie cutter, cut dough into desired shape.
Place 1-inch apart on an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake in a 375Β° oven for 7 to 8 minutes, or until done.
Cool on sheet.
Makes about 42 cookies.
