Stuffed Green Peppers
Stuffed Green Peppers is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 3 large green peppers, 1 c. boiling salted water (1 1/2 tsp. salt), 1/2 lb. ground beef, 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce and 1/2 c. coarse dry bread or cracker crumbs, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Heat oven to 350Β° (moderate).
Cut stem end of each pepper and cut in half lengthwise.
Wash outside and inside.
Remove all seeds and membranes.
Cook peppers in boiling salted water 5 minutes.
Drain.
Mix rest of ingredients.
Stuff each half pepper lightly with mixture.
Place in a 13 x 9-inch baking dish.
Bake, covered, 45 minutes.
Uncover and bake 15 minutes more.
Makes 2 to 3 servings.
