Sourdough Bread
Sourdough Bread is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 pkg. active dry yeast, 1 1/2 c. warm water, 1 c. starter batter, 2 tsp. salt and 2 tsp. sugar, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A crowd-pleaser that never disappoints.

To Make Starter Batter
Dissolve 1 package active dry yeast in 1/2 cup warm water.
Stir in 2 cups lukewarm water, 2 cups sifted all-purpose flour and 1 tablespoon sugar.
Beat until smooth.
Cover with cheesecloth.
Let stand at room temperature 5 to 10 days, stirring 2 or 3 times a day.
(Starter will have a "yeasty" not sour smell.)
Cover and refrigerate the starter until ready to make bread.
